Ella Chadwick meets X Factor winners Rak-Su

Date published: 26 November 2018

A group of seriously ill children, including Ella Chadwick, were treated to a VIP evening, including meeting Rak-Su, as they watched Radio City Live at Liverpool Echo Arena on Friday 23 November thanks to the Barrie Wells Trust.

Among the guests who attended were 11 year old Ella Chadwick who has just won a Pride of Britain award for ‘Child of Courage’ and Seren Deverell, who at six years old was diagnosed with Wilms tumours, which is a rare complex case of cancer affecting just one child in the UK each year.

Guests were treated to first class hospitality in a private executive box whilst watching some of pop’s most powerful stars of today and were also greeted with a surprise visit from British boyband and last year’s X Factor winners, Rak-Su.

Rak-Su said: “The work that the Barrie Wells Trust does is fantastic, and we are so happy to be able to help.  Ella, Seren and Kieran are such brave children and it was an honour to meet them.”

This was made possible through the Barrie Wells Trust’s Box4Kids initiative, which invites seriously ill and disabled children to enjoy VIP experiences at sport and entertainment venues in boxes donated by generous box holders’.

The Trust is completely funded by millionaire philanthropist, Barrie Wells who created Box4Kids after noticing many empty executive boxes at major venues. He had already given over his own box at Liverpool Football Club to deserving children from local hospitals and decided to take the idea nationwide through collaboration with other organisations. Box4Kids has benefitted over 7,000 guests.

Barrie Wells said: “The executive boxes provide a safe space for families to enjoy spending quality time together and meeting Rak-Su has helped to make the evening even more special for these deserving children.

We are not asking for money, we are asking for anyone reading this who might have an empty box to please get in touch and help us make more memorable experiences.”
