‘Buy a Tree – Donate One Free’

A charity partnership has been launched between All-In-One Garden Centre and Groundwork Trust Oldham and Rochdale to help plant trees within the local communities. For every tree sold at All-In-One Garden Centre one will donated to Groundwork for planting within the Rochdale and Oldham boroughs.

From the 1 August 2008, for every tree sold at All-In-One Garden Centre one will be donated to Groundwork for planting within the local area. Groundwork manages a number of public nature sites throughout the two boroughs and the trees will contribute to the ongoing maintenance and improvement of these local sites.

Cliff Ellison, Executive Director of Groundwork Oldham & Rochdale, said: “This is fantastic news. To be approached by a local business, wanting to improve the environment of the communities they serve is great!”

Jason Stafford, Finance Director, All-In-One Garden Centre, said: “To have Groundwork Oldham & Rochdale as our nominated charity is an ideal partnership, not only does it enable us to support and invest in the local community but it educates consumers on the environmental benefits of planting trees, which dovetails in perfectly with our core business.”

Both organisations are also in the process of setting up a web site viewing facility so everyone can see just where each donated tree has been planted. This will be available at www.gwor.co.uk 

This is not the only activity that the partnership is working on. The All-In-One Horticultural Show and Charity Fun Weekend on 16 and 17 August from 10.00am to 4.30pm will have Groundwork fundraising stalls including Face Painting, Children’s Activity stations and a Grow Your Own demonstration stand to both educate and entertain visitors over the weekend.
