Stanycliffe Luncheon Club bringing lonely people together
At a time when more people are finding themselves lonely and isolated, Stanycliffe Social Centre in Middleton have started a luncheon club for local people to get together and socialise.
Councillor Sue Smith said: “Every Thursday people arrive at Stanycliffe Social Centre for a three-course lunch, game of bingo, a chat and to play games.
“We are also in the process of creating an edible garden.
“We are inviting people to join us for a special Christmas lunch which we are planning with the children at Boarshaw Primary School.
“We also plan to start having an arts and crafts afternoon to add to all the other activities.
“We play music and just love the company."
Stanycliffe Luncheon Club is every Thursday 11am to 2pm.
There is also an opportunity to meet your local councillors and get other support
If you need any information then contact Lauren Mason on 07527 385 777, if you need transport that can be arranged as well.
