Dansworks Dance Academy shine at business awards

Date published: 24 November 2018

Dansworks Dance Academy performed several song and dance routines to the delight of the audience of businessmen and women during the interval at Rossendale Business Awards at the Riverside in Whitworth on 14 November 2018.

Among the dancers were eight students from Whitworth Community High School including Jaydan Hanson-Beech and Jasmine Somerwill who performed a duet.

Jasmine Clayton, 14, said: “It was the first time I had been on stage for the business awards and I was a little bit nervous, but it was just another performance at the end of the day.

“I was a little bit scared when I saw that my headteacher was also in the audience right at the front.

“I had two completely different costumes in the performance so after the first number I had to very quickly get changed to make sure I was ready for the last one.”

Jasmine has been at Dansworks since she was four and attends five different classes over three days and also helps out looking after younger children.
