Rochdale shoppers have the chance to really get in to the Christmas spirit with the launch of its Giving Tree in partnership with Hits Radio’s Cash for Kids Mission Christmas campaign.
The initiative, which is running until Friday 21 December, helps ensure youngsters across Greater Manchester have a Christmas they really deserve. The centre is encouraging shoppers to show their support once again by donating gifts for all ages through the centre’s Giving Tree.
The tree, which will be located near the centre’s Costa, will be home to hundreds of tags, each one specifying an age between newborn to 16 as well as stating boy or girl. Customers will then be able to retrieve a tag, buy a gift for a recipient and return it to Rochdale Exchange’s centre management suite unwrapped, leaving it in the dedicated donation box.
Mission Christmas is the largest toy appeal in the UK, which is run by children’s charity Cash for Kids in association with Hits Radio and aims to distribute gifts to disadvantaged children across Manchester.
Last year more than 1,300 Rochdale children received presents thanks to so many generous people donating more than £50,000 worth of children’s toys and its hoped that the charity will receive even more this Christmas.
Shoppers can donate gifts to Mission Christmas at the Rochdale Exchange centre management suite until Friday 21 December.
