Crowds gather to enjoy the performance by the Middleton Popstars Academy
This year marks the 14th Rochdale Borough Mega Mela (Multicultural festival) organised by the Multicultural Arts and Media Centre, with the help of all the communities on Saturday 2 August and Sunday 3 August at Bowlee Park, Heywood Old Road, Middleton, near Karim Restaurant.
Rochdale Borough Mega Mela has become the largest multicultural gathering of the Northwest region and the organisers are expecting over 8,000 people per day. It will be hosting local artists including, Middleton Pop Stars Academy, Langley Sklites Cheerleaders, Hohodza African Band, Slivergems, Majorettes, Backdoor Music Project, Skylight Circus, M. Aftab, Shahid Anwar, Nadia Lowe, Kahlid Khan, henna painting, fabric painting, puppetry, DM Digital Network TV, Crescent Radio, giant funfair, professional kabaddi (Asian wrestling), arm wrestling, fashion show, local national and international, artists, including , Gubi Sandhu, Juggy D, Roshan Abbas Khan, Silinder Pardesi, SK 1, Imran Khan and many more.
It’s a free entry and free car parking on site.
There will be free hourly mini buses from 11.00am to 9.00pm from Deeplish Community Centre, Castlemere Community Centre, Spotland Community Centre and Bangaldesh Community Association Project.
Please follow Junction 19 of M62 for access to the event. The entrance to the site is Left IN and Left OUT.
