Mayor pays for armed forces breakfasts

The Mayor serves up breakfast for veterans and their families
In a touching gesture, the Mayor of Rochdale, Councillor Mohammed Zaman, paid for approximately 60 breakfasts at the Armed Forces Breakfast Club at Rochdale Town Hall on Thursday (8 November).
And in wanting to do more for our armed forces personnel, the Mayor and MP Tony Lloyd rolled their sleeves up to serve the veterans and their families.
Mayor Zaman said: "It was an honour to serve breakfast to veterans. These are our heroes and living pride. We are all created to serve, support and motivate each other.
"I really felt great being on the serving side. Every time I visit them, I learn a great deal from them and I admire them for everything they have done and doing for our country and communities."
The Breakfast Club has served up over 1,600 breakfasts over the last 12 months and is a vital social outlet for the Armed Forces community.
