Repairs on Dean Head to be completed by end of next week

Date published: 08 November 2018

Work to repair damage caused to a street bollard and lamp posts in September is set to be completed by the end of next week.

The bollard and street lights on Dean Head in Littleborough were badly damaged following a collision in mid-September.

A local resident said: “The road is very dangerous as the bend is treated as a race track by many, especially when it is dark.

“This is the third crash of this type in the last ten years and our concern is for anyone walking a dog, delivering a newspaper, the postman or anyone simply walking by.”

However, Rochdale Borough Council has confirmed all repairs should be finished in around 10 days’ time.

John McAuley, of the council’s street lighting team, said: “Work to repair the street lights began in September, following damage caused by a road traffic accident. This has been completed and all the street lights are now working properly. The work to replace the bollard will be completed by the end of next week.”
