Rochdale Heartbeat donate equipment for diagnosing heart problems to Royal Oldham Hospital

Date published: 08 November 2018

The Royal Oldham Hospital now has a fantastic piece of equipment for diagnosing heart problems, thanks to a donation from Rochdale Heartbeat.

Rochdale Heartbeat has puchased and donated a Vscan Extend, a handheld, pocket-sized ultrasound system that empowers healthcare professionals to make focused assessments and accelerate treatment decisions at the point of care.

It is the second such piece of equipment that has been purchased by Rochdale Heartbeat.

Pam Wiseman, Rochdale Heartbeat said: “There is already one of these machines located at Fairfield Hospital in Bury which was jointly purchased by the Masonic Charitable Foundation Tercentenary Fund and Rochdale Heartbeat.

“The staff at Fairfield hospital are very impressed with the machine.

“The scanner saves time in diagnosing heart problems and fits in the hand quite comfortably, the patient can have their scan without leaving their bed, the information is recorded and can be downloaded to the patients file.”
