Three collisions in Littleborough in one evening

Date published: 02 November 2018

Police had their work cut out on Wednesday (31 October) as they dealt with three separate collisions in Littleborough.

The first, shortly before 8pm on Featherstall Road, left a man with serious injuries.

A second collision on Blackstone Edge near The White House was initially reported as a fatal collision. However, only minor injuries were caused - the driver provided a positive sample of breath at the roadside and was arrested on suspicion of drink driving.

The third collision into a wall happened near Hollingworth Lake, but fortunately, no injuries were caused.

Inspector MacGregor of the Rochdale East Neighbourhood Team said: “Yesterday evening we dealt with three road traffic collisions in Littleborough.

“Even though in at least one of these incidents speed does not appear to have been the main factor, the interest we have seen in Community Speedwatch is really encouraging.”

If anyone is willing to get involved in volunteering their time to do Community Speedwatch, please email rochdaleeast@gmp.police.uk and we will arrange a suitable date and location.
