The Mayor's Charity Dinner raised £1,500 for his chosen charities
A special dinner at Kashmir Youth Project raised over £1,000 for the Mayor’s charities on Wednesday 24 October.
A total of £1,500 was raised for the Mayor’s charities: Springhill Hospice, Petrus, Parkinson’s UK, Rochdale Community Partnership, MoorEnd Trust and the British Heart Foundation.
The evening was well attended with entertainment provided by Ruby Akhtar, an artist from Nottingham, who specialises in Indian and Pakistan Folk music.
Volunteers sold raffle tickets and a small auction was also held after dinner.
Mayor Mohammed Zaman said: “Thank you to councillors Shakil Ahmed, Dalaat Ali and Faisal Rana for taking part in fundraising for my chosen charities this year, as well as Farooq Qureshi and other members of Rochdale Kashmiri Association for organising the wonderful evening.
