Rochdale Borough Council's adult care team wearing it pink
Staff across Rochdale Borough Council donned their pink garments all in the name of charity on Friday (19 October) – and raised several hundreds of pounds doing so.
£400 was raised on the day across all the various council departments as members of staff supported the ‘wear it pink day’ in support of the Breast Cancer Now campaign, one of the biggest fundraising events in the UK.
Taking place during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, thousands of people wear pink in their communities, schools or work places for the UK's largest breast cancer charity, Breast Cancer Now.
Since the first event in 2002, over £31.5 million for has been raised for the campaign’s life-saving research.
