Successful session on stroke awareness at Castlemere Community

The Asian Medical Professionals Support Organisation (AMPSO) event
More than 100 people attended a successful heath session about stroke awareness at Castlemere Community Centre on Friday (19 October).
The Mayor of Rochdale, Councillor Mohammed Zaman, joined various leaders, representatives and members of the community at the Asian Medical Professionals Support Organisation (AMPSO) event.
Presentations about strokes were given, including the causes, treatment, psychological effects on relatives, how to reduce your risk, plus the importance of contacting the NHS in the event of a suspected stoke.
Speeches were given by Mayor Zaman and Ghulam Rasul Shahzad OBE before a question and answer session took place.
The Mayor thanked everyone involved and suggested in the light of the presentations, that a morning walking group could be set up.
Chairman Doctor Humayun thanked Rochdale Council and the Rochdale Township for its financial support, the audience and everyone involved, saying he was pleased there had been so much interest to learn about the medical condition.
