Blankets for winter

Councillor Faisal Rana donated blankets
As winter approaches, local charity Angie's Angels are looking for donations to help the homeless back into accommodation.
The voluntary group helps homeless members of the community as well as veterans to ease the transition into permanent housing by providing furniture and household items.
Local councillor Faisal Rana has supported the group by donating a van full of blankets.
Councillor Rana said: “As a retired veteran myself, I understand the pressure and difficulties faced by those returning from service. Angie's Angels is a wonderful group of volunteers that is helping our heroes when they need it most.”
The group is run by Angie Howarth, Diane Nattress, Jenni Jones, Claire Buckley and Laurence Howarth.
Angie added: “Our primary purpose is to help veterans and recently re-housed people who have come from homelessness with furniture and household items.
"We also run a cafe every Friday from within The Petrus Hub and receive support from them. We also work closely with the soup kitchen at Champness Hall, by providing clothing and food support."
