Ryder-hoax suspect may face fraud charge

A man charged in connection with the hoax carried out on Ryder and Dutton estate agents, who have offices in Heywood and Middleton, could face a fraud charge.
Martin Frostick (52), from Newbarn, Delph, was charged with harassment and appeared before Oldham Magistrates yesterday.
It is alleged he was involved in sending faxes to more than 500 key clients and institutions, falsely claiming the estate agents was being wound up.
Magistrates heard that further applications in relation to losses occurred were being considered. The Crown Prosecution Service said there could be further charges of fraud submitted and the case could be a matter for Crown Court.
No plea was taken and the case was adjourned for three weeks.
Frostick, who only spoke to confirm his name and address, was granted bail on the condition that he did not contact any person related to Ryder and Dutton, or go to any business or residential address connected with the estate agents.
