World Mental Health Day, run by Healthy Young Minds is next week. In honour of this, we are having a yellow day in school on Monday 8 October. We are not asking for any donations on this occasion as it is about the awareness of mental health.

The weight of food collected for the Harvest Festival Assembly was 168kg.  In September they had an 18% rise for demand of their food, so this will have helped tremendously with their stocks.

Our first badges have been awarded as part of the Walk to School campaign with 168 children receiving them for September – let’s see if we can increase that in October! Well done to Mr Barraclough’s class, as they had the lowest percentage of children travelling to school by car.

We are hosting two drop in sessions to assist parents with High School applications. These are taking place on Monday 8 October and Friday 12 October. Both sessions will begin shortly after 3:15pm. Please can parents let a member of staff know if they wish to attend a session so we can ensure that enough computers are set up. Go directly to Mr Lomax’s room to sign in for these sessions on the day. The closing date for High School applications is Wednesday 31 October.

Applications for Reception are now open and will remain open until Tuesday 15th January. We will arrange for drop in sessions for parents to complete this process in the future. Please can parents speak to staff in the meantime if you need some support

Citizens of the week for week ending 5 October are Mr Rushton’s Class.  They did a super assembly showcasing their work in Topic and Science. There was also a Sports Award for the school Netball Team for taking part in the IPLCN Netball Tournament.

There will be a coffee morning for all parents of children on the SEND register on Monday 8 October at 9am – croissants will be provided.

We are trying start up a P.T.A (Parent Teacher Association) in school. We will be having a brew morning on Friday 12th at 9.00ish in the Family Room. We are trying to get parents involved in doing some activities e.g. a bake sale, crafts, books etc. This is to help raise funds for your child(ren) in school.  Please can parents come and support the children in school, we would really appreciate it!!

Well done to Mr Rushton’s Class with best attendance for week ending Friday 28 September 2018.
