American dream for dancers Mia Linnik-Holden and Andrei Toader

Date published: 02 October 2018

It was an American dream for Middleton dancers Mia Linnik-Holden and Andrei Toader as they enjoyed international success at the DBDC A Legendary Celebration contest in Boston in September.

The talented pair, 15 and 16, placed first in the Fordney Fdn Best of the Best Open International Ballroom, with a clean sweep of first places in their performances: Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Foxtrot and Quickstep.

World champions Mia and Andrei were also awarded an overall second place in the U21 Open International Ballroom but were rewarded with a first place for their Viennese Waltz.

They also placed overall fifth in the Fordney Fdn Best of the Best Open International Latin and seventh in the Open International Latin Final.

The dedicated duo, who have rapidly gone from strength to strength over the years, have continued to top the dance scene since rising to the youth ranks earlier this year.

The teenagers became junior world champions after their partnership began in May 2015, racking up numerous titles in the junior ballroom and Latin ranks.

Mia began dancing at the age of six after asking her parents for lessons, and Andrei, who is originally from Romania, started dancing at the age of three.
