A group of children from upper key stage 2 will be travelling to Marland to play netball on Tuesday. We hope that the team will have as fantastic time and wish them good luck.

Student teachers from Manchester University

On Thursday, we hosted a training event for 15 student teachers from Manchester University. They spent the day learning about how we teach reading across school and observed and worked alongside children in several classrooms. They then had a session covering assessment, learning both the theory and practical application. The day was a huge success, with the students being extremely complimentary about our school. We look forward to inviting some of these students back when they complete more in-depth placements throughout the year.

Curriculum meetings – Early Years

Huge thanks to those parents who attended the curriculum meetings this week. It was great to see parents joining with us to support the children – home school partnerships are vital for children   to reach their full potential.

Reception places

The application window for Reception places opens this week. As usual, applications are to be made online and the window remains open until mid- January. We would encourage getting any applications in early to avoid missing any deadlines.

Citizens of the week are the Whole School for celebrating our Harvest Festival and for their generous donations to Rochdale Food Bank.

Well done to Mr Rushton’s Class with best attendance for week ending Friday 21 September 2018.

Thank you to all parents who have already returned the contact sheets and congratulations to the young man in KS1 who won the raffle prize draw. Unfortunately, we still have contact forms outstanding and if parents have not returned these then please do so as soon as possible. We need these forms to update contact information and would appreciate a swift return.
