Coffee Morning at UKIM Madina Mosque
Madina Mosque came together to host a Macmillan Coffee Evening in Rochdale, raising £300 for people living with cancer.
Speaking after the event on Friday 28 September, Sadia Chirag, Head of Women's activities at the mosque, said: “We really enjoyed doing our bit for this year’s Coffee Morning.
“It was great to get people together, have a nibble and a natter and raise money for Macmillan to help people living with cancer at the same time. I want to thank everyone who supported and helped to make it a success.”
UKIM mosques across the country have been raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support by hosting a ‘Cup of Chai’ events.
With many events already held, mosque doors were opened to all members of the community to come and have a cup of tea and coffee with a slice of cake whilst donating money to Macmillan.
Bringing millions of people together for coffee and cake each September, Macmillan Cancer Support’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning has become a British institution over the years – with thousands of events happening up and down the country.
