Viper Squad - Girl’s Rugby

With the help of Rochdale Rugby Union Football Club (RRUFC), St. Cuthbert's will be running a girl’s rugby training session after school each week. Taking place each Wednesday from 2.50pm - 3:45pm, with the first session being held on 31 October. Training will encompass all aspects of the game from the rules and regulations to ball handling skills and the correct way to tackle.

The sessions will include a game of touch rugby (not contact games in school).

Students who enjoy the rugby training and would like to get involved in the full game are most welcome to attend the dedicated ladies training sessions which are held at RRUFC on Tuesday evenings from 6:30pm - 8:00pm each week.

GCSE Psychology Club

Mrs Cowley organising a psychology club. It is every Tuesday in room 312. Laptops and additional support will be available for students and homework can be completed via the google classroom portal. If you would like to drop into the sessions, please bring a packed lunch and make sure that you have a sticker for your planner.

Assemblies

The theme for Assemblies this week was Compassion. Compassion is one of our Five Core Values.

First of all, we were asked to think of what it means to ‘Love Thy Neighbour’. We then focussed on how we should accept people from all different backgrounds, faiths cultures and societies.

A key message was “Do unto others as you would have others do unto you.” Students were asked to think about how we can all help to understand people more, give people a chance and look after people who are vulnerable and need of our help. Wherever we can we should try and show love, celebrate our differences and be mindful of what others may be going through.
