‘Hades Hill’ fell race raises £400 for charity

The annual ‘Hades Hill’ fell race raised £400 for charity on Thursday 6 September.
£200 was donated to Rossendale & Pendle Mountain Rescue, and £200 to Empowered People.
The five-mile race, founded in 1978 by the late Joe Salt, was started by Derek Clutterbuck, who has organised the race for several decades.
The biggest field for over 30 years, the evening was clear, with all participants finishing the race in daylight.
Chris Holdsworth and Helen Glover, with respective times of 30.15 and 37.04, both broke the 2013 course records of Josh Tigue and Caitlin Rice.
Steve Hall prevailed in the Vets and Ron Chappell was the oldest finisher.
