Hamer Community Primary School
We are once again taking part in the Living Streets Walk to School Campaign. Each day, the children will say how they have come to school. Children who regularly walk to school will be rewarded each month with an interactive badge. Please can parents help their child/children receive their badge by walking to school as often as you can.
Year 4 went swimming recently for the first time and we are pleased to say that they had a fantastic time. They will be going every week for the rest of the year and we look forward to hearing how their skills develop.
Please can all parents/carers remind your children to be safe on line and not to reveal any personal details to strangers. Please also make sure that your privacy settings are set at the appropriate level. We have had warnings from the local authority about unscrupulous sites asking for personal details which are then being shared.
Parent Curriculum meetings are being held in each unit over the next two weeks and invitations will be sent home. Please can parents make an effort to attend, as important information about their child’s learning will be shared, along with a variety of resources to help parents support at home.
Citizens of the week are the whole school for returning to school looking very smart and ready to learn. Well done.
Well done to Mrs Bearpark ‘s class with best attendance for week ending 7 September
Applications for High School are now open. Parents of Year 6 children have until October 31 to complete their application. All applications need to be made online via the Rochdale Council Website or Parent Portal. We will have a drop in Session on Monday 8 October at 3.15pm to support parents with this.
Contact Forms have been sent home for parents to complete. We have slightly changed the format this year and so if any parents require any help filling these in, please ask at the curriculum meetings that are being held over the coming week or two
In order to ensure that we have a speedy return of these forms, we will be holding a raffle prize draw. For any forms returned before Friday 21, a raffle ticket will be given and the winner will be drawn on Monday 24 in assembly. We appreciate that completing these forms may take a little time, but the importance of the information they contain cannot be underestimated. As always, we thank parents for their support.
