Collision in Wardle
A man has been charged with drink driving after a number of cars were written off following a collision in Wardle last month.
Matthew Pilkington, 24, of Littleborough appeared at Manchester Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday (4 September) where he was charged with one count of drink driving.
Several cars were written off following the collision on Birch Road during the early hours of 9 August.
Three cars and a truck were badly damaged during the incident, but no injuries were reported.
Neighbours heard ‘a noise like an explosion’ and rushed outside to the devastating scene.
Pilkington has been banned from the road for 17 months and ordered to pay a fine of £400.
