Planning permission granted to transform this former hair salon
A former Heywood hair salon is set to become an educational centre after permission was unanimously granted by the Planning & Licensing Committee on Monday (3 September).
The Church Place Salon will become a centre for maths and English, bringing a vacant unit back into use.
Teaching would take place between 3 and 7pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday and between 9am and 1pm on Saturday.
In addition, it would be open for enquiries, meetings with parents, assessments and clerical work, typically from 9am to 3pm Monday to Friday.
An average of eight to ten students would be expected at any one time during the core hours of operation, with contact time for tuition lasting approximately 45 minutes.
No external alterations are proposed other than general repairs and maintenance. A separate application for advertisement consent may be necessary.
