The layout, scale, appearance and landscaping for the construction of 53 homes on land off New Road, in Littleborough was unanimously passed at the Planning & Licensing Committee meeting on Monday (3 September).

Two agents from Russell Homes addressed the committee, noting that eight houses will be in accordance with the affordable housing scheme, 124 trees will be retained on site and the bus stop will be relocated 50 yards east towards New Street.

They added: “Approval will bring a number of benefits, including over 40 new jobs to the area. We request approval in line with the planning officer’s recommendation, and start development later this year.”
