Burglar causes thousands of pounds’ worth of damage at Team Karting

Date published: 03 September 2018

A burglar broke through the roof of Team Karting during the early hours of Monday (3 September), causing thousands of pounds’ worth of damage.

In addition to damaging the rood and skylight, the offender forced security doors, cut the CCTV wires, ransacked the office and a safe before making off with money.

Matty Street , CEO of Team Karting, said: “We have CCTV footage from about 5 or 6pm on Sunday showing someone trying the locks to all the units, so I woud urge everyone to make sure they have locked the doors.

“We are still open for business, and I would like to thank the staff who have come in and tidied. Team Karting is absolutely spotless, thanks to them.”

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: “Shortly before 3.15am on Monday 3 September 2018, police received a report of a burglary on Queensway in Castleton.

“It was further reported to police that the offender had forced their way into the property and carried out an untidy search before stealing a quantity of cash.

“No arrests have been made in connection with the burglary.”

Team Karting is open from 11am to 10pm from Monday to Thursday and from 11am to 11pm on Fridays.
