A potential sinkhole has appeared on Rookway in Alkrington - the hole has been marked up with barriers to protect traffic ahead of an excavation to repair the cavity.
Speaking on Wednesday (29 August), Donna Bowler, Assistant Director of Place, said: “Our highways engineers attended the area last night and put barriers up around the site to protect traffic.
“An engineer will be going out today to determine the extent of the cavity and we will then issue an order to excavate the whole section, so we determine the cause and the best method of repair.”
