Mayor Mohammed Zaman (centre) visited the NADRA surgery
A National Database Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (NADRA) surgery at Castlemere Community Centre dealt with 91 National Identity Cards for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) applications on Saturday (18 August).
The cards act as a Pakistan visa for up to ten years, and current card holders can apply for renewal.
The surgeries have benefitted thousands of members of the Pakistani and Kashmiri communities including women with small children, disabled or elderly people and those who cannot go to the NADRA Office in Manchester.
Mayor Mohammed Zaman visited the surgery, thanking the NADRA staff and volunteers for their continued support.
Ghulam Rasul Shahzad OE, Chairman of the Management Committee of the Castlemere Community Centre said: "We members of the Pakistani and Kashmiri communities are thankful to the NADRA Team for their continued support in holding these surgeries.
“Most people cannot go to the NADRA Office in Manchester so holding NADRA Surgeries in Rochdale is a great service to the Pakistani and Kashmiri communities and we are thankful to them."
