Brazen flytipper caught on film

Date published: 22 August 2018

This is the moment a man was caught brazenly dumping waste on private land – and asked if there was a ‘problem’ in doing so.

The unknown man, wearing a grey and yellow hoodie, was caught on camera unloading black bin bags of rubbish from a black Vauxhall, before dumping them on private land on Holmes Street in Rochdale on Tuesday 14 August.

When spotted, he asks the cameraman in an obnoxious manner, “Problem? Keep it to your ******* self then.”

He then proceeds to tell the cameraman, “That’s alright” when sarcastically told, “thanks for dumping all that” as he drives away from the site, whilst gesturing rudely to the camera.

The incident has been reported to Greater Manchester Police and Rochdale Borough Council.

Martin Taylor, head of environmental management, said: “We have received a video relating to a fly-tipping incident on Holmes Street, Rochdale on Tuesday 14 August.

“Our enforcement department has removed the tipped waste and is investigating the allegations under normal procedures.

“Anybody caught fly-tipping in Rochdale borough will be prosecuted.”

Fly-tippers could receive a £400 fixed penalty and any vehicles connected with fly-tipping impounded and crushed by the Council.
