Heywood Charities Fete & Parade
The Heywood Charities Fete Committee has been given a funding boost, thanks to the Tesco Bags of Help scheme.
An additional £2,000 will contribute towards the Fete on 2 September, which has also been sponsored by Crown Oil and Heywood Township.
The parade will begin at 1pm from Sefton Street to Queen’s Park, where an afternoon of entertainment will take place, including music, dancers, face painting, a fair and rides plus refreshments.
Since launching in 2015, Bags of Help has awarded more than £33 million across more than 6,400 local projects in 600 communities.
Grants of £4,000, £2,000 and £1,000 are all raised from the 5p bag levy.
