Stevie and Bobbie Taylor will be climbing Ben Nevis for charity
Two selfless little girls are preparing to climb Ben Nevis to raise money “for children with no mummies or daddies”.
Stevie and Bobbie Taylor, aged eight and six, will be climbing the mountain with their mum, Becky-Leigh Taylor in September, to raise money for the charity, ‘Once Upon A Smile’.
Once Upon A Smile helps support families that have suffered the loss of a loved one,
The girls’ unusual decision arose after they recently climbed Snowdon for fun in just two hours and 47 minutes.
Becky-Leigh said: “They wanted to climb Everest next, but they aren’t quite ready. My youngest said she is lucky to have a mum like me, and not every child is that lucky and all children deserve a good childhood.
“So they wanted to climb Ben Nevis to – in their words – ‘help children with no mummies and daddies’.
They chose the charity themselves after looking at a few online and this one is based in Manchester. They have had no influence from me.”
She added: “I think they are really brave and they have made me so proud. They are determined to make it to the top.”
The Taylors will climb Ben Nevis on 29 September.
