Inspectors praise mental health project for its high-quality service

A Rochdale mental health crisis unit for vulnerable adults has been lauded for the high standard of service it provides.

The pioneering Greave Project was praised by Care Quality Commission (CCQ) inspectors for its excellent leadership and for providing a good quality of care.

Inspectors hailed the supportive and approachable management team, a clean and well-maintained facility and a safe environment for people.

In a further boost, the report concluded that the service was effective and responsive, with an open culture enabling staff and service users to thrive. It also praised staff for ensuring a clear, quick and thorough referral process.

The service also provides up to three overnight placements for adults who might require dedicated support to manage their crisis. This works as an alternative to hospital admission and helps to free up much needed hospital beds.

Councillor Iftikhar Ahmed, cabinet member for adult care, said: “I have nothing but praise for The Greave Project’s high quality residential accommodation. This is an excellent project that has been rightly hailed by inspectors for the high quality of service it provides. I would like to congratulate everyone involved on this success story.”

Our proactive and caring approach is supporting people to rebuild their lives without unnecessary hospital visits and involvement with statutory services. The good inspection rating has been achieved through the hard work from a dedicated team of staff who deserve a lot of credit and thanks.”
