Feel Good Festival: Family fun

Date published: 18 August 2018

The Esplanade in front of Rochdale Town Hall was transformed into a Festival Square for children and families, with The Actual Reality Arcade, a life-sized interactive game zone inspired by 10 classic arcade games for everyone to enjoy.

The Urban Astronaut performed throughout the day suspended up to 20ft in the air, walking as if without gravity, spinning and turning, whilst The Dance We Made created an inclusive performance where everyone could choreograph.

The Flying Dodos were also present, alongside the Strictly Cycling Bicycle Ballet performers, fusing dance and physical theatre with visual spectacle, comedy and striking soundtracks.

Live performances from local groups including Skylight Circus and Cartwheel Arts also featured in the Family Zone.

Families listened to live music, enjoying a range of delicious dishes within the Food and Drink Village.
