Following an energetic and lively set at this year’s Feel Good Festival, Kaze sat down with Rochdale Online for an exclusive interview.
Kaze, Amy Webber and Graham McCusker, have been hailed as “fresh-sounding, future-facing” by BBC 6 Music and praised by BBC Radio Scotland for their “operatic, off-kilter, syncopated prog-pop.”
The pair met whilst studying opera at the Royal Northern College of Music in 2014 but they formed Kaze after Graham’s life-changing Leukaemia diagnosis in 2016.
Through the gruelling months of chemotherapy, they wrote numerous songs - deciding to follow their pop instincts.
Amy provides the soaring, operatically-charged vocals and lyrics that are intrinsic to their spellbinding sound and Graham masterminds the complex and definitive musical arrangements from the keys and beyond.
The energetic duo have secured airplay on BBC 6 Music, BBC Radio Scotland (Single of the Week), BBC Radio Manchester, BBC Radio Oxford and Amazing Radio.
Kaze’s one-take music video for their debut single 'Pinned On You' made ‘Video of the Month’ on OurStage and as a consequence, Amy and Graham were selected as ‘Artist of the week’ for Richer Unsigned.
