Rochdale Borough Council apprenticeship team is one of only three councils to make it through to the regional finals of the National Apprenticeship Awards, alongside Stockport and Northumberland.
The awards showcase the diverse range of sectors engaged with apprenticeships and celebrate outstanding apprentices, employers and those individuals who go above and beyond to champion apprenticeships.
Andy Turner, who manages the council’s programme, said: “We are overjoyed that we have made it. We work really hard with the apprenticeship programmes and getting to finals like this shows the success we are achieving for Rochdale, that is what it is all about.”
Councillor John Blundell, cabinet member for skills and employment, said: “I am delighted that they have made it to these finals. This is a fantastic achievement and is yet another great success story for Rochdale and the apprenticeship scheme.”
The regional finals take place on Wednesday 19 September at Manchester Marriott Victoria and Albert Hotel.
