Three charged as part of an investigation into modern slavery in Rochdale

Three people have been charged as part of an investigation into modern slavery in Rochdale.

Naliah Noreen (06/02/1996) and Ratib Ali (17/06/1998) both of Royds Street West and Junaid Rehman (16/06/2000) of Peters Street have all been charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.

Noreen and Ali have also been charged with arranging to facilitate the travel of another person with a view to exploitation under the Modern Slavery Act.

All have appeared at Manchester and Salford City Magistrates’ Court this morning (Wednesday 15 August 2018) and have been remanded in custody.

In April 2018, an investigation into modern slavery and the supply of Class A drugs in Rochdale was launched.

Detectives from Rochdale Borough’s Operation Challenger team worked closely with key partners from the local authority when it was suspected that vulnerable young people were being exploited.
