Taxi driver robbed at knifepoint

A Rochdale taxi driver was robbed at knifepoint on Wince Close in Middleton during the early hours of Tuesday 31 July.
Muhammad Babar, who works for Star Swan Taxi in Middleton, says he was robbed by three people with knives shortly before 3am that morning, stealing his money, taxi and phone.
He said: “I was robbed on the Tuesday morning by three people with knives. They stole my money, taxi car and mobile. They also damaged my car.”
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: “At around 2.30am on Tuesday 31 July, police were called to reports that a taxi driver had been robbed on Wince Close in Middleton.
"Three offenders who were carrying knives forced a taxi driver to relinquish his car – a blue Skoda Octavia.
"The car was later found abandoned on Victoria Avenue, Blackley.
“Police have launched an investigation and enquiries are ongoing.”
