Shocking damage has been carried out to a Rochdale takeaway undergoing renovations.

Flamin’ Chicken, on South Parade, has had its sign ripped from the front, lights removed, two of the CCTV cameras burnt out and the premises flooded during the early hours of Friday morning (3 August).

Carlos Sheibani, who owns Flamin’ Chicken, said: “This happened costing us around £10,000 in damage and lost earnings. I have had to fly back from holiday to deal with this.”

The incident has been reported to Greater Manchester Police.

Mr Sheibani added: “Unfortunately, we have had a few setbacks but if we want to get Rochdale town centre to where it should be, we won’t let these bullies mess with our spirit.

“People like Mark Foxley, Paul Ambrose, Rochdale police, all departments at Rochdale Council and Rochdale Online have been absolutely amazing.

“We really could do with the support of our community as we have invested so much into the community and will carry on.”

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "Police were called at 11.44am on Friday 3 August to reports of a break-in at a takeaway on South Parade, Rochdale. An offender gained entry to the premises and damaged signage and wiring."

Enquiries are ongoing.

Flamin’ Chicken will remain open from lunchtime until late every day.
