Grass fire near JD Sports Distribution Centre

A fire broke out on a field near the JD Sports Distribution Centre during the afternoon of Thursday (26 July).
A spokesperson for the fire service said: “A small fire involving grassland broke out between the Metrolink stop and the Distribution Centre at around 4.30pm.
“Firefighters are currently on scene using beaters to extinguish the fire.”
