Middleton in Bloom
The RHS Britain In Bloom judges arrived in Middleton on Tuesday for their journey around the town, visiting key locations.
Volunteers have been busy in recent months, working to improve areas around the borough, with lots of new features installed this year.
The route began with St Michaels Garden Gang in Alkrington, before viewing the Hope Community Garden.
From there, it was on to Rhodes Lodges to Middleton Memorial Gardens and the Town Centre, before admiring the blooms in Truffet Park.
New entry Historic Cheapside was next on the list, followed by Valley Road Allotments and Boarshaw Cemetery.
Finally, the judges made their way to Middleton Technology School and Springvale Youth Club.
New It’s Your Neighbourhood entries this year included RBH Chisholm Court and Threlkheld Court, Burnside Community Centre, Status4All and Woodhaven Community Garden.
Keeley O’Mara, of the Middleton in Bloom committee, said: “The team had a long day but feel the judging went incredibly well. We won’t find out how we have done till October/November, so it’s a long anxious wait but we have our fingers crossed for an invite in September.”
