Holy Trinity CE Primary first in Swimming Gala

In the two last weekends of June Holy Trinity CE Primary School took part in the National ESSA Swimming championships at Sheffield.

Mark Kenyon, Headteacher, said: “The school came 14th Nationally in the Medium Schools Freestyle Relay Competition and 10th in the Medium Schools Mixed Relay event.

“A fantastic effort for a small school.

“On the last week of term Holy trinity CE Primary took part in the Rochdale Schools Swimming Gala Finals at the Middleton Arena on the 16 July coming first.

“A brilliantly organised event and as Rochdale schools can we thank the organisers.

“As a small school we enable our young people to excel at sports which gives them essential skills for later life.”

Year 5 competition

  • 1st Holy Trinity 76 Points
  • 2nd Middleton Parish CE 54 points
  • 3rd St Edwards CE Primary 55 Points
  • 4th St Michaels CE 44 points
  • 5th St Joseph’s Primary 43 points
  • 6th Newhey Primary 28 points

Year 5 Competition

  • 1st Holy trinity CE 83 points
  • 2nd St Michaels Ce 58 points
  • 3rd Middleton Parish with 51 points
  • 4th St Josephs with 42 points
  • 5th Newhey Primary 35 points
  • 6th St Edwards CE 32 points

Overall

  • 1st Holy Trinity CE 159 Points.
  • 2nd Middleton Parish CE 105 points
  • 3rd St Michaels CE 102 points
  • 4th St Edwards CE  87 points
  • 5th St Joseph’s 85 points
  • 6th Newhey 63 points
