Do not leave your windows and doors unlocked when you leave the room
During the current hot weather its tempting to leave your doors and windows open to catch any breeze, but local police are warning residents to be aware of sneak thieves.
A police spokesperson said: “A word of warning – please do not leave your windows and doors unlocked when you leave the room.
“Sadly, quite a few homes have lost their keys, handbags, wallets and vehicles when doors were left unlocked while they nipped upstairs or went into another room.
“This is the exact moment a sneak thief is waiting for and they have hit lucky on quite a few occasions.
“Be aware and ensure you don’t fall foul to this type of crime.”
