Planning application lodged for former care home

Date published: 23 July 2018

A planning application has been lodged to transform a vacant Rochdale care home into flats.

The application proposes to change Parklands Care Home on Falinge Road into 23 apartments with 23 parking spaces and 10 cycle spaces.

The application has been put forward by Falinge Park Homes and would have 15 one-bed flats, six two-bedroom and two-three bed apartments. An area for the storage of refuse bins and recycling bins would be provided in an outdoor area and an acoustic screen proposed along the south eastern boundary of the site.

Two objections have been received to date, plus two neutral comments highlighting concerns over privacy, noise and property price issues, and traffic congestion.

A previous application to change the building to a House in Multiple Occupancy for 57 residents was previously refused in 2016.
