A selfless seven-year-old girl has raised £400 with a charity haircut on 19 July.
Amelia May Rashid had her waist-length hair cut into a bob at Hairway to Heaven, donating 10.5 inches of hair to The Little Princess Trust, who supply wigs to children with conditions that result in hair loss, such as alopecia or chemotherapy.
Amelia May decided to help after she watched a film featuring a child sick with cancer, and asked her mum, Tara Rashid, how she could help poorly children.
Mrs Rashid said: “We can’t thank everyone enough for their donations and kind comments. Amelia May is smiling constantly; it’s been emotional to know that my little girl has the biggest heart.”
Amelia May originally wanted to raise £100 for the charity as well as donating her hair, but after hitting her goal within minutes, raised that to £250.
