Major fire at Heywood recycling centre

Four fire crews attended a blaze at a recycling centre in Heywood during the early hours of this morning (Wednesday 23 July).
Firemen arrived to find 500 tonnes of recycled timber on fire at Hartleys Recycle Centre on Bamford Road in Heywood.
Firefighters used a Jet, Ground Monitor and Aerial Appliance to put out the blaze.
There are safety cordons at the scene and nearby roads have been closed.
Fire officers are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
