Fozia Najib, teacher of maths, who arranged the visit, said: “He started the day by visiting my form P4, who engaged really well with Muhammad. P4 was chosen because we followed his journey from last year, which was before Muhammad received his professional boxing license. As soon as we heard he received his professional license, something we were over joyed with, we got in touch with his manager.

“Muhammad delivered four assemblies to each year group - all of which were received positively by the students. There was a real buzz in the school.

“Muhammad spoke to the pupils about striving for their dreams with hard work, resilience and commitment, while also fully utilising education.

“He repeatedly mentioned how his inspirations and heroes were teachers and as a surprise for him, we managed to invite his PE teacher to the school previously from Matthew Moss - Mr Wystawnoha for the final assembly.

“His wife Mrs Wystawnoha is a dance teacher here at Falinge Park High School. Muhammad was pleasantly surprised and spoke incredibly highly of Mr Wystawnoha.

“One pupil who previously did boxing when he was younger but gave up, was so inspired, he decided to take it up again after Muhammad’s inspirational talk.

“During break time Muhammad wasn't given any time to himself - the pupils wanted to speak with him and get his autograph, and Muhammad was more than happy to give them his time.

“Asad Shamim, Muhammad's manager, was very easy to get in touch with, and helped arrange the visit. It was a huge success - something the pupils are grateful for and will forever cherish.

“We at Falinge Park believe Muhammad Ali will become the next Anthony Joshua!”
