CommuniTeaRoom Great Get Together

Date published: 28 June 2018

A well-attended Great Get Together ‘CommuniTeaRoom’ was held by CommuniTea on Sunday (24 June).

The day was held as part of a national ‘Great Get Together’ weekend on what would have been Labour politician Jo Cox’s 44th birthday.

MP Ms Cox died on 16 June 2016 after she was shot and stabbed in West Yorkshire, where she had due to hold a constituency surgery in Birstall.

A CommuniTea representative said: “Thank you to everyone who attended & made the CommuniTeaRoom GreatGetTogether: it was wonderful to see people having lovely cakes, tea and biscuits, henna, games and meeting new people. We were even able to cheer England too.”

CommuniTea is a tea room, snack bar and community hub, which donates its profits to projects to help the local community.
