Churches Together
Churches across Greater Manchester were brought together with a special event, which was attended by The Mayor of Rochdale, Mohammed Zaman.
The event was organised by the Bishop of Manchester, Rt Revd Dr David Walker, to bring newly elected Mayors, High Sheriff and church leaders from the Greater Manchester area together, get to know one another, and learn more about the work of churches.
The Bishop welcomed all guests and spoke about the work and activities of churches together, covering recent events that have taken place and how these were delivered through joint working initiatives and ensuring an inclusive approach.
He said: “It’s all about working together, to serve humanity and promote love, peace and harmony through our faiths and cultural networks.”
Mayor Zaman said: “This was an excellent opportunity for everyone, to share information and network with Mayors and church leaders throughout Greater Manchester.
“It was an excellent event that brought church leaders and other dignitaries together to understand their roles and responsibilities, nurture new connections and work together to develop better community relations and interaction.”
