St George’s Day events and parades, 1940’s War Day event, SAVE Britain’s Heritage Walking Tour of Rochdale, Greater Manchester Cichlid Society Auction, Brass Band concerts, Car Boot Sales, Rotary Club of Middleton Race Night, World Book Night and The Mayor of Rochdale Civic Charity Ball - lots to do around the borough for all the family.

Exhibition of Knitted Bible Stories – St Andrews Church, Fri 20 & Sat 21, 9.30am – 12pm
Come and see the Bible come to life in knitted form. This exhibition travels around the country and is on loan to us from St Georges United Reform Church in Hartlepool.

St George’s Fun Weekend – Milnrow Memorial Park, Sat 21 & Sun 22, 10.30am – 5.30pm
Inflatable slides, an assault course to bounce and run on, big spheres to roll around inside of as well as a face painter and an egg decorating and rolling competition! Stocks to throw wet sponges at people, a raffle and lots more entertainment too...

1940’s War Day event – Healey Dell Heritage Centre & Tea Rooms, 9.30am – 5pm
Held in the heart of a WWII munitions factory in Healey Dell, there will be lots of military vehicles on display. Everyone is invited to dress in 40s fashion if they wish. The music of the 40s will be played and ration bags will be available to purchase from the tea room.

There will be a 2pm service at the Parish Church. At approximately 3pm, the parade will journey down Church Lane, along Fleece Street and past the Town Hall where the salute will be taken by the District Commissioner, Alan Sharkey, accompanied by the Deputy Mayor.
