Proposed path through Wince Brook

A path winding through Wince Brook has been proposed by the local Friends group.
The stone path would stretch from Davidson Drive to the boardwalks, and also from Mainway East to bridge three.
Green Ranger Mike Cummings said: “The blue line represents the path I would like to continue with a stone surface, providing a good pathway from Davidson Drive to the boardwalks. Ultimately it would great to also get a surfaced path from Mainway East to bridge three, which would almost give us a linear route right through the site.”
The path is expected to cost approximately £6,000 to surface from Davidson Drive to the boardwalks and £7,000 to surface from Mainway to bridge three.
Last summer, the path from Kirkway to bridge one was regenerated. Prior to the new crushed stone walkway, the area around bridge one was always wet, due to water flowing downhill from a well on the former site of Ramsden Farm.

As part of ongoing maintenance to the nature reserve, several hundred native bluebells and wild garlic bulbs were also planted by Green Volunteers shortly before Christmas. Whilst they are not expected to bloom for another couple of years, an experienced eye may be able to spot them later in the year.
